The Sonova Group (including Sonova Holding AG and all of its affiliated companies worldwide, including but not limited to Sonova Hearing (Beijing) Co., Ltd. ) (“Sonova”) is a global provider of hearing care solutions. With respect to the sale and after-sales services of SENNHEISER audio technology products and software in China, Sonova Hearing (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (located at Unit 07-08, 13th Floor, West Tower, B-12 Jianguomenwai Avenue, Chaoyang District, Beijing, PRC, 100022) acts as the personal information processor under this Privacy Statement (“Statement”) (“we,” “us,” or “our”). In providing services, we may process your personal information. This Statement applies to the audio technology products and related services provided by the company in China and does not apply to other Sonova products or services.
This Statement applies to the “Sennheiser Smart Control Plus” application (“Smart Control Plus”) operated by the company. It explains how we collect and process your personal information in order to provide services related to the Smart Control Plus application. The company highly respects privacy and personal information protection and is committed to complying with this Statement and applicable local laws and regulations (“Applicable Laws”), including the Cybersecurity Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China (PIPL), and other applicable laws and regulations concerning personal information protection.
This Statement does not apply to any third-party applications or software integrated into our online platform, nor to any other third-party products, services, or businesses (collectively, “Third-Party Services”). When using Third-Party Services, you should review and comply with the privacy policies or other personal information processing rules established by those third parties.
Special Notice: When you use Smart Control Plus to establish a connection with a HarmonyOS device, access to the Bluetooth address is required. This information is not transmitted to us, and we do not process your personal information in connection with it.
2. What Personal Information Do We Collect and Use?
During your use of Smart Control Plus services, we will process your personal information only for the purposes listed in this section. If you choose not to provide your personal information, you may be unable to access certain parts of the online platform, or we may be unable to respond to your requests; however, you may still use the core functions of Smart Control Plus.
Please note that although Smart Control Plus may collect certain personal information during operation, some of this information is stored only on the local device where the application is installed and is not provided to us.
Currently, Smart Control Plus transmits the following personal information to the company’s servers only when you use the “Firmware Update” function and the device running Smart Control Plus is connected to the internet: Hardware identifier; Hardware version number; Product firmware version; Operating system type and version; Mobile application version. This data is not permanently stored and is used solely for transmitting firmware updates. If you do not wish to transmit this information to us, please refrain from using the “Firmware Update” feature.
3. How We Share Your Personal Information
As a general principle, we do not provide your personal information to third parties.
If we need to provide your personal information to a third party in the future, we will, in accordance with the requirements of the PIPL, disclose the specific circumstances of such provision and/or transfer and obtain your separate consent.
Without your consent, we will not provide your personal information to any third party for other purposes, nor will we use your personal information for purposes beyond those described in this Statement.
4. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information
As a general principle, we do not transfer your personal information outside China. If we need to provide your personal information overseas in the future, we will, in accordance with the requirements of the PIPL, inform you of the applicable rules governing the cross-border transfer and obtain your separate consent before doing so.
5. Retention Period of Personal Information
You provide personal information to us only when using the “Firmware Update” function, as described in Section 2 of this Statement. After assisting you in completing the update, we will delete your personal information and will not retain it.
6. Your Legal Rights
You enjoy all applicable rights concerning your personal information under Applicable Laws, including:
- Right of Access – You have the right to access your personal information, except where otherwise provided by laws and regulations.
- Right to Rectification – If you discover that the personal information we process about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request correction.
- Right to Deletion – If our processing of your personal information violates laws or regulations, or if we collect, use, or process your personal information beyond the scope of this Statement without obtaining your consent, you may request deletion of your personal information.
- Other Rights – Any other rights granted to you under the PIPL.
